“ Yoga is about stilling the turbulence of consciousness”- Patanjali
The international yoga day was celebrated on June 21st, remembering how rishi Patanjali has given us the gems of knowledge on yoga and pranayama for a healthy body and mind. The chief guest for this program was Ms. Anusha, an alumni member of our school (batch 2019) is an ex-investment banking analyst, now a well-trained yoga instructor, vipaasana meditator, a certified coach on holistic nutrition health and is also interested in Carnatic music and kathak dance. Presiding over the function also were the school management committee members, Brig. Hande, school secretary Shri S.K Bhat, Principal and headmistress of pre-primary and primary sections. The program included different yoga asanas demonstrated by students of varied classes, dance musicals with yogic postures and speeches on the importance of this day. The events were based on this year’s theme- “Yoga for Self and Society.” The chief guest herself showcased ‘shirsasana’, a pose where one stands on their head; during her address to the students.
